Assistant bookkeeper

We are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant in Merskem who will take on the following range of duties:

• You will be responsible for general accounting tasks within the accounting department.
• Coding, posting and processing purchase invoices (Accounts Payable).
• Handling credit management and direct debits (Accounts Receivable).
• Working with CODA, Isabel and Newedge for financial statements.
• Preparation of reports related to Intercompany activities, stock processing, investment invoices and Capex.
• Tracking variances and calculating commissions.
• Preparation of tax and legal obligations (VAT, Intrastat, IC, various mandatory surveys).
• Provide support with year-end closing and auditor review.
• Reporting directly to the Finance Manager.

To fill this role, we are looking for the following person:

• Preferably a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy-Taxation or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Fluent knowledge of Excel, knowledge of SAP is a plus.
• Strongly analytical, structured and accurate.
• Punctual handling of deadlines and appointments.
• Eager to learn and willing to quickly master the specific intricacies of our accounting department.
• Fluent command of the Dutch language, and you can make yourself understood in French and English.
