GL Accountant

As a General Ledger Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our client's financial success. You are responsible for compiling numerical overviews and reports and make an active contribution to the quarterly and monthly reports and annual accounts. You will also take care of the financial administration for specific parts of the group, ensuring that the figures are delivered on time, completely and correctly. Drafting and analysing the monthly business result statement and explaining possible discrepancies are also part of your duties.

You will play an active role in projects aimed at improvements and optimisations, giving you the opportunity to really make a difference within this organisation. You will also manage a small team of administrative staff and be their first point of contact. You act as the link between the operational departments at different locations and the financial processing of the Finance team.

You take care of the monthly VAT declarations of the Belgian companies and ensure that the general ledger complies with the relevant laws and regulations. You also identify and advise on proper AO-/IC set-up and ensure that we comply with (tax) laws and regulations in accordance with BE-GAAP.

You are someone who can switch smoothly between different tasks and have at least a Bachelor level. Driven by figures and with strong analytical insight, you work fluently with Excel and preferably have knowledge of PowerBI (this is a plus, not a must). You are proactive and critical of all financial processes, constantly looking for ways to improve them.
