Engineering Manager

As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the following range of tasks:

• You will work closely with the Engineering Manager in America, the project director in Europe, software teams, product management and the sales team.
• You nurture a team culture of proactive communication, efficiency and problem solving.
• You are responsible for the project execution of all projects in Europe and the rest of the world except for the United States and assign responsibilities to your team.
• You will drive the internal development of technical solutions.
• You take responsibility for the solutions you and your team produce.
• You will ensure that all projects and products implemented comply with local legal requirements.
• You will be responsible for developing an operational cost budget.
• You will develop, improve and refine process standards that improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• You will coordinate internal resources and third party/suppliers for the flawless execution of the engineering scope of projects.
• You will help define the project scope and objectives, involve all relevant stakeholders and ensure technical feasibility.
• Your goal is to deliver all engineering solutions on time, within scope and within budget.
• You will develop a detailed engineering solutions plan to monitor and track the progress of your own projects and help your team develop this for their projects.
• You report and escalate challenges to senior management.
• You perform risk management to minimise project risks's.
• You will create, maintain and report comprehensive project documentation for your own projects and ensure that your team does the same for their projects.
• You will meet with customers to gather specific hardware requirements for products and create specific customer solutions to achieve project requirements, using standard components already in place as much as possible.
• You track project performance, analyse the data and draw conclusions on learning points and actions to improve or maintain a successful project outcome.
• You provide required reports and information in a timely manner as requested by management.
• You take care of keeping documentation up-to-date in various systems(CRM/ERP/PLM).
• You are committed to continuous improvement.
• You share technical knowledge with engineering and sales team members
• You provide training to your team and colleagues's.
• You will maintain and improve relevant technical knowledge and skills.
• You will attend sector events where necessary.

As an Engineering Manager, you will largely meet the following requirements:

• You hold a technical master's degree such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automation, mechatronics,...
• You will have at least 5 years' experience as a manager to manage a team of +- 15 employees. This team is likely to grow to around 25 employees.
• You have excellent leadership and organisational skills.
• You can think analytically, creatively and in a solution-oriented way.
• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• You speak very good Dutch and English. Knowledge of French and/or German may be a plus.
• Previous experience in intralogistics is a plus.
• You are willing to be present in the office every day.
