As a cost controller you will be responsible for providing cost & management inventory guidance and support for the plant in the region of Ghent.

You will be responsible for all controlling aspects of the plant, cost and inventory control and variation analysis versus forecast.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• You act as the key costing & strategic business partner to the plant director.
• You carry out the industrial closing of costs, controlling and monitoring them with the corporate department.
• You develop and maintain management reporting reports and prepare monthly closing reports.
• You ensure system/SAP usage for all steps of operations to maximize visibility on performance by process within production and warehouse and propose continuous improvement on the plant processes and information systems.
• You work in close collaboration with operations & supply chain to continuously gain better insights into key KPIs such as: standard cost, overhead, labor efficiency, under & over absorption of costs, purchase price variances and production order variance.
• You recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain best-in-class practices.
• You analyse manufacturing spend, manufacturing variances, distribution spend, freight spend and other information (earned hours, paid hours, sourcing data, PPV, overhead allocations etc) at plant level and cost centre level.
• You draw up investment proposals, ensuring financial follow-up during the implementation phase and analyse actual costs with budgeted costs.
• You review and set the annual standard costs and ensure compliance with the standard rules & guidelines on standard costing.
• You participate in month-end closing, particularly on COGS and inventories.

Due to the ambitious growth of the organisation, they would like to strengthen the team in their plant in the region of Ghent with a Cost Controller.

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in business & administration, accountancy or economics.
• You have minimum 2 years of experience in cost controlling.
• You have a good knowledge of the MS Office software tools and are a very experienced Excel user.
• You have a good understanding of cost method of absorbing and evaluating inventory.
• You are analytical, result-driven and accurate.
• You have professional communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
