For our client in the Ghent region, we are looking for an Accountant who will be responsible for A to Z accounting together with finance team.

Your main responsibilities lie within reporting, procedures and compliance. You are responsible for closing and financial reporting. You also lead ad hoc projects in Belgium to improve the financial and accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• You ensure the preparation of the annual accounts and prepare reports based on the financial data in SAP.
• You generate KPI reports of the main accounting posts.
• You carry out accruals at the end of each period, based on the accounting principles and policies used.
• You reconcile the various SAP modules with the FI module.
• You analyse the various expenses, check investments and analyse balance sheet items based on luiqidity, aging balance sheet and accounting principles.
• You ensure correct compliance with Belgian accounting principles.
• You develop best practices for financial procedures and are responsible for their implementation and evaluation.
• You are also a contact person for the external audit agency.
• You ensure the reconciliation of BE-GAAP and IFRS.

An internationally active manufacturer with a large portfolio of products for the automotive, marine and mass transit industry is looking for an Accountant to strengthen their international team in Belgium.

For this position as Accountant for our client in region Ghent we are looking for the following requirements:

• Holding a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting;
• Having a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant from A - Z;
• Ideally experience within a production environment or within an international business organisation;
• Knowledge of Belgian legislation is a must;
• Being familiar with IFRS is essential, BE-GAAP is an asset;
• Knowledge and experience with SAP (FI module) or a similar software;
• Fluently with Excel;
• Proficiency in English (working language, Spanish is an asset.
