Function

What is expected of you?

• You will be involved in challenging structural and hydraulic engineering projects for a Class 8 contractor.
• You act as the administrative and technical link between the tendering process, preparation and implementation.
• Analysing tender documents, plans, bills of quantities and technical specifications.
• Accurately calculating and preparing tenders.
• Preparing cost calculations, quotations and preparatory documents for public tenders.
• Assessing implementation methods, material requirements, staffing requirements and potential risks.
• Technical and administrative preparation of hydraulic engineering and civil engineering projects.
• Consult with project managers, site managers, suppliers, subcontractors and colleagues within the organisation.
• Monitoring the accuracy, completeness, timing and feasibility of files.
• Contributing ideas on optimisations and practical solutions before implementation begins.

Profile

Who are you?

• You hold a degree in industrial engineering (construction) or a comparable technical qualification.
• Ideally, 5 to 10 years’ experience as a work planner, estimator, project manager or site manager.
• Experience with hydraulic engineering projects, such as quay walls, locks, maintenance works or related infrastructure.
• Experience with public tenders, cost calculations and interpreting technical specifications.
• A strong grasp of figures and the ability to check calculations and documents with great precision.
• A sound understanding of construction processes, implementation methods and relevant regulations.
• A qualification or certificate as a health and safety adviser is a significant asset and is preferred.
• You are able to work under pressure, are organised and work independently, even when dealing with several cases at the same time.
• You are a good communicator and enjoy working with colleagues, combining a sociable and approachable nature with a good measure of assertiveness.
• You are drawn to a family-run business and prefer a personal working environment to the structure of a large corporation.
• You are willing to work in Dendermonde; candidates from the region will be given preference, although this is open to discussion for candidates with a strong professional profile.
