Project Manager Electricity

Function

As an electrical project manager, you will be responsible for the technical, operational and financial management of various electrical engineering projects. You will act as the link between the client, site managers, suppliers, subcontractors and the in-house team.

You will closely monitor every project, from the preparation stage right through to completion. In doing so, you will oversee the schedule, quality, safety, efficiency and profitability of the work carried out.

Your responsibilities as a technical project manager will include, amongst other things:

  • You determine the necessary technical, financial and human resources for each project.
  • You draw up the work schedule and monitor the progress of the work.
  • You will consult with and select suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
  • You prepare the site dossier and explain it to the site manager.
  • You provide technical advice on materials, applications and construction methods.
  • You will organise the supply of equipment and materials to the site.
  • You decide where to place machinery and storage areas.
  • You plan staff activities and allocate tasks.
  • You identify any additional work and submit it to the building owner or client for approval.
  • You monitor the performance and quality of the work carried out by suppliers and service providers.
  • You will ensure that the applicable safety rules, procedures and quality standards are adhered to.
  • You must report accidents, incidents and claims in accordance with the applicable guidelines.
  • You assess staff and identify their training and skills development needs.
  • You will carry out studies into more efficient working methods, energy solutions and new technologies.
  • You discuss potential improvements and technical solutions with customers and clients.

Safety and professionalism are key to this role. You will always work in accordance with the site’s and the client’s safety regulations, take care of the equipment allocated to you, and actively participate in work meetings and training sessions.

Profile

For this role as an electrical project manager, we are looking for a candidate with a higher technical qualification, for example in electrical engineering, electromechanics or a similar field.

In addition, you recognise yourself in the following characteristics:

A technical background in electricity, electromechanics or electrical engineering provides an important foundation for successfully carrying out this role.
