Accounting clerk

Function

Do you enjoy a varied role that combines bookkeeping with administrative tasks and reception duties? If so, you’ll undoubtedly feel right at home here.

As an Accounting Assistant, you’ll be a key member of the finance team. You’ll support day-to-day accounting tasks, assist with financial monitoring and, at the same time, ensure that visitors and colleagues are assisted in a professional manner. No two days are ever quite the same.

Tasks

  • Processing of accounting data and administrative documents
  • Providing support with month-end closings and other financial reporting
  • Helping to manage credit control and follow up on outstanding payments
  • Contacting customers by telephone regarding overdue invoices
  • Welcoming visitors and operating the switchboard
  • Managing incoming and outgoing post
  • Booking of meeting rooms and administrative follow-up regarding catering
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with a range of administrative tasks

Profile

You are someone who enjoys variety and wants to make a difference in both administration and accountancy.

You recognise yourself (largely) in the following:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in an administrative or financial field, or equivalent experience
  • You have some initial experience in accounting or administration, or you are a motivated newcomer with the right attitude
  • You work accurately and have an eye for detail
  • You bring structure to the process and know how to set priorities
  • You communicate professionally, both on the phone and in person
  • You feel comfortable in a supportive role that offers plenty of variety
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAP would be an advantage
  • You speak Dutch and French fluently and can also get by in English
  • You’re keen to learn and look forward to expanding your range of responsibilities step by step
