Lead Project Manager, Data Centres

Function

You will lead and coordinate data centre projects throughout their entire lifecycle, with a clear focus on planning, implementation, communication and quality assurance.

• Act as the primary link between the customer and the internal organisation.
• Coordinating project planning and monitoring between internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintaining a strong on-site presence at data centre locations, particularly during key implementation and testing phases.
• Supporting both installation-related and maintenance-focused projects.
• Ensuring robust documentation, reporting, record-keeping and project file management.
• Monitoring deadlines, the quality of implementation, budget control and contractual obligations.
• To relieve the burden on operational teams by taking on broader coordination and related project activities.
• To be closely involved in the final handover phase, particularly during the last three months before handover, when a physical presence on site during testing is crucial.
• Contribute to the further development of project management processes, structure and tools.

Profile

We are looking for an experienced and level-headed professional who possesses the necessary authority, maturity and communication skills to thrive in a demanding and multifaceted environment.

• Substantial experience of working with data centres.
• A degree in industrial engineering or civil engineering, with a focus on electrical engineering, HVAC, BMS, the manufacture of switchgear or industrial electrical installations, or equivalent experience.
• A broad technical knowledge, preferably with experience in electrical systems and multidisciplinary project environments.
• Practical credibility and a willingness to be on the ground where needed.
• Extensive experience in planning, administration, communicating with clients and structured project monitoring.
• A thorough understanding of contract management.
• The ability to quickly get to the heart of technical and operational issues and translate these into clear, pragmatic actions.
• Excellent command of English; Dutch is a major advantage, but not essential.
• At the time of applying, you must be authorised to work in Belgium.
