Quality manager

Function

You will be responsible for:

  • Quality Policy:
    • You will develop, implement and monitor the quality policy and quality objectives.
    • You organise training courses on quality and food safety.
    • You report on the performance of the quality system to the management.
    • You will prepare and chair management reviews and quality meetings.
  • Quality management:
    • You handle complaints and non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions.
    • You will implement changes to the legislation into their internal processes.
    • You will prepare for and oversee external audits.
    • You organise recall exercises and traceability tests.
    • You approve HACCP for new products and machinery.
    • You will manage and evaluate their Food Defence and non-Food Fraud systems and report on these to the management.
    • You’ll help to safeguard their food safety culture.
  • Food safety and HACCP
    • You will coordinate the entire HACCP system: its development, validation, verification and monitoring.
    • You convene the HACCP team whenever necessary.
    • You have a say in decisions regarding non-conformities at critical control points.
    • You will manage pest control, glass and plastic records, and monitor waste streams.
    • You monitor the effectiveness of the cleaning process through visual inspections and microbiological analyses.
    • You plan and carry out internal audits and follow up on the actions taken.
  • Administration & document management
    • You are the IFS coordinator and work alongside their external consultant in this role.
    • You are responsible for managing the RSPO and Rainforest Alliance files.
    • You will be responsible for managing product specifications, technical data sheets and ingredient declarations.
    • You will coordinate supplier audits, quality checks and the analysis plan.
    • You are the point of contact for the FAVV, external laboratories and audit bodies.
    • You will interpret analysis results and manage the calibration plan.
  • Daily monitoring:
    • You carry out regular quality inspections on the production floor.
    • You will be responsible for managing internal and external sampling.
    • You monitor the use and management of PPE.
    • You liaise with your colleagues in the quality department on a daily basis to ensure that operations run as smoothly as possible.

Profile

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a nutrition-related subject or equivalent experience.
  • You have experience in quality assurance within the food industry.
  • HACCP, IFS and food safety hold no secrets for you.
  • You work meticulously and methodically, and you enjoy taking the initiative.
  • You have excellent communication skills and know how to get people on board with quality improvements.
  • You speak Dutch fluently. Knowledge of French and English is an advantage.
