Bookkeeper

Function

You will be the point of contact for accounting matters within the organisation and will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including both day-to-day bookkeeping and tax compliance.

Your responsibilities include:

• You will be responsible for the accounts of one company from start to finish.
• You will have overall responsibility for AP and AR.
• You will process and check accounting transactions and ensure that reconciliations are carried out correctly.
• You take care of the month-end closings and prepares the year-end closing for.
• You will be responsible for VAT returns and other tax obligations.
• You will monitor intra-Community transactions and Intrastat on.
• You will monitor deadlines and ensure that the accounts are always accurate and up to date.
• You will work alongside colleagues from other departments and provide support wherever financial expertise is required.

Profile

This role is ideal for someone who is highly skilled in their field and who, above all, derives satisfaction from keeping the accounts well-organised and accurate. Quality, reliability and responsibility are important.

• You have some initial relevant experience as an accountant and are ready to manage an accounts department independently.
• You preferably have a Bachelor of Accountancy-Taxation or an equivalent qualification.
• You have a good understanding of taxation and recognise its impact on day-to-day bookkeeping.
• You are familiar with accounts payable, accounts receivable, VAT, month-end closing procedures and financial reconciliations.
• You work with precision and punctuality, and leave little to chance.
• You take responsibility and are not afraid to make decisions as the person with final responsibility within your area of expertise.
• You have a good knowledge of the English.
• You can get by quite well in French.
• Experience with Wings is a plus.
• You are empathetic and fair in your dealings with colleagues.
• You’ll feel at home in a friendly working environment where humour and a good atmosphere are important.
• You are someone who can inspire, support and, where necessary, challenge your colleagues. A natural people manager So, without needing to hold a formal managerial position.
