Technical Supervisor

Where will you be working?

• Location: Production site in Antwerp, at the Port of Antwerp
• Team: Working within a fine team, working closely with the Plant Manager

Job description:

• Technical Right Hand
  • Support the Plant Manager on technical matters
  • Ultimately responsible for plant maintenance

• Daily Tasks
  • Managing and monitoring the technical service
  • Coordinating repairs and maintenance work, both daily and periodically (winter and summer maintenance) and during shutdowns
  • First point of contact for internal and external maintenance engineers

• Safety and procedures
  • Monitor compliance with policies, safety standards and internal procedures
  • Implement and enforce safety rules, intervening where necessary
  • Inspect both works in progress and work carried out to meet standards
  • Identifying and correcting unsafe situations
  • Reporting workplace incidents

• Inventory management
  • Carrying out inventory checks and management
  • Ensuring availability of sufficient parts, equipment and supplies

• Working procedure Improvements
  • Actively contribute to improving working procedures, with an eye on quality of output
  • Participate in optimisations and improvement plans to promote safety, quality and profitability

• Training and Education
  • Using technical expertise to train and educate employees on technical matters

For this position, we are looking for a candidate who can combine a structured approach with technical knowledge and who values safety. As Technical Supervisor, you will contribute to the efficient and safe operation of our production site, and you will be part of an innovative and motivated team.

Our ideal candidate:

• At least upper secondary diploma in a technical field.
• Already several years of hands-on technical work experience within a manufacturing environment or in an industrial context.
• Relevant work experience in managing a technical department.
• You have knowledge of technical work and safe working methods.
• The combination between hands-on participation on site, managing a team and part administrative work appeals to you greatly.
• You know how to express yourself fluently in Dutch and English.

Our client produces and delivers all classic cements in Benelux and France from two locations. With two cement grinding plants in the port of Antwerp and in Rieme - Port of Ghent -, they have excellent locations that are both suitable for loading and unloading both barges and seagoing vessels. Global export and import of cement and raw materials at your fingertips. An important part of the logistics processes are carried out by the customer.
