Function

Do you enjoy being the technical point of contact for customers worldwide? Are you service-oriented, strong in PLC troubleshooting and do you enjoy variation between telephone assistance and occasional installation visits? Our client, an international specialist in innovative production lines for the beverage industry, is looking for a Service & Commissioning Engineer to take their (hotline) service to the next level.

As a Service & Commissioning Engineer, you are mainly responsible for the hotline: you provide remote support and help customers by phone or via online connections to solve technical malfunctions, failure analyses and PLC problems. You will dive deep into automation, help solve problems structurally and, where necessary, travel briefly to customers for targeted commissioning or interventions. Your week consists of:

  • Managing the technical hotline and providing first- and second-line support to industrial customers worldwide
  • Log into PLC systems (Siemens S7, TIA Portal, Allen Bradley/Rockwell,...) and remotely analyse faults
  • Perform process analysis and guide customers step-by-step in identifying and remedying faults
  • Documentation and follow-up of service interventions, reporting directly to service or engineering management
  • Periodically (10-20% of your time) perform on-site commissioning or short service interventions, especially on smaller installations

Profile

  • Technical training or equivalent experience in industrial automation, service or commissioning
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with PLC troubleshooting (Siemens S7, TIA Portal, Allen Bradley/Rockwell,...)
  • Strong in communication, customer support and stress-resistant in a hotline role
  • Skilled in reading/analysing electrical schematics (EPLAN), mechanical drawings is a plus
  • Team player, independent and with a sense of initiative
  • Sufficiently flexible to travel internationally (briefly) from time to time
  • You speak fluent Dutch, English and French, knowledge of another language is a plus

Organisation

Our client is a leading, international supplier of advanced production and automation solutions for the beverage industry, based in the Puurs-St-Amands region. You will join an inspiring, professional team where cooperation and quality are paramount.

Offer

  • A service-oriented, varied job with a lot of autonomy as well as team support
  • Challenging in terms of content: you will develop into the central point of contact for technical support and remote troubleshooting
  • Market-based salary according to experience
  • Internal training, coaching and advancement opportunities within a collegial and innovative organisation
  • Open-ended contract, flexible filling and expert team
