Sales Engineer

Locatie: Melle, Belgium Sector: Engineering Contract: Indefinite time Uren: 40 hrs/week Laatst bijgewerkt: 18 June 2025

Function

As a sales engineer, you will be responsible for the following range of tasks:

  • You will be responsible for the sales of industrial dust control and extraction equipment for region Belgium and Luxembourg.
  • Because of the existing network, you will mainly follow up leads and visit these customers to fully analyse their needs.
  • After analysing their problem, you help find a technical solution. You will be supported in this by engineers at head office.
  • Once your solution has been worked out together with head office, you defend your solution to the customer. As soon as the customer agrees, a full quotation is worked out from head office, which you defend once again with the customer.
  • Even after the sale, you will remain involved in the project such as, among others, handing over the installation and possibly providing technical training to the customer's staff.
  • You are also responsible for part of the after-sales. In case of questions or problems with the installation, you can quickly find out what the causes are.
  • You will work very closely with head office where you can call on the engineers in a team of seven colleagues.
  • You will mainly operate in regions of Belgium and Luxembourg, giving you a lot of freedom and responsibility in performing your job.
  • You will attend the sales meeting in the Netherlands (Amersfoort region) once a month.

Profile

As a sales engineer, you largely meet the following requirements:

  • You preferably have a higher degree in a technical field (electromechanics, mechanics, electrical engineering, installation engineering, measurement and control engineering, mechanical engineering) or are equivalent through experience.
  • You have solid experience in industrial installations and have the technicality to think along with customers in terms of content.
  • You speak and write good Dutch and English. A good knowledge of French is a plus.
  • You preferably already have a relevant network.
  • You have a hands-on mentality.
  • You can work independently and have the maturity to handle freedom. When not with customers, you will work mainly from home.
  • You like to be on the job often (about 60% of the time) and are not bothered about moving to headquarters in the Netherlands at least once a month.
  • You are in possession of a driving licence B.
