R&D Project Engineer
Function
As an R&D Project Engineer, you will work within a technical and industrial environment, with a strong focus on the shop floor. You will be responsible for developing, testing and scaling up processes and materials.
Your duties:
- Actively present on the shop floor and collaborate with production and engineering
- Manage and operate thermal spray systems within R&D
- Development and testing of new materials, from lab scale to industrial application
- Solving technical problems within the development process
- Optimising processes and test environments in balance with production requirements
- Analysing process data and translating it into concrete improvements
- Scaling up and industrialising new R&D processes
- Providing technical support to production and collaborating on optimisations
- Building understanding of sputtering technology and coating processes
Profile
We are looking for an R&D Project Engineer who:
- Have a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field
- Eager to work hands-on and comfortable in an industrial environment
- Has an interest in machines, processes and material behaviour
- Analytical and solution-oriented thinking
- Flexible and able to cope with deadlines and changing priorities
- Quick to learn and master new technologies
- Can work independently but is also a strong team player
- Fluent in English (other languages are a plus)
- Willing to travel internationally from time to time
Organisation
This company develops technology to apply coatings to materials such as glass and other surfaces. Those coatings make, for example, windows save energy, smartphones work better or solar panels more efficient. The company makes the machines as well as the materials and software needed to do so, and operates globally with teams in Europe, the US and Asia.

- Gross monthly salary depending on experience
