Project Manager E&I and Constructions
Function
As Project Manager E&I & Constructions, you will manage technical projects from preparation to delivery. You are the central point of contact for all parties involved and monitor efficiency, quality and safety during each phase.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate projects within E&I, automation and mechanical constructions.
- Drafting, monitoring and adjusting project planning and sub-plans.
- Monitor and optimise the project budget, including forecasts and cost analyses.
- Organising and monitoring purchases: preparation of purchase files, price comparisons, contract follow-up.
- Direct and control subcontractors and suppliers according to agreements made.
- Ensure efficient technical elaboration: instrumentation, controls, diagrams, constructions.
- Timely and clear progress reporting to managers and project team.
- Negotiate with builder, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitoring safety, quality, environment and welfare during execution; ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Maintain correct external communication with customers, partners and (potential) clients.
- Inspect yards and identify technical or organisational bottlenecks.
Profile
You largely meet the requirements below to be successful in this role:
- Engineer (industrial/civil) or equivalent through relevant experience.
- Min. 2 years' experience in projects within automation, controls, electromechanics, structures.
- In possession of a VOL VCA or willing to obtain one.
- Good PC skills.
- Knowledge of electricity, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC controls.
- You can read and prepare technical plans and diagrams.
- Understanding safety, environmental and quality regulations.
- Strong in project planning, follow-up and financial control.
- Efficient in directing subcontractors and managing procurement files.
- Clear oral and written communication (NL very good, EN/FR good).
- Team-oriented, stress-resistant, accurate and results-oriented.
- Strong in negotiation, problem-solving and decision-making.
- Leadership, conflict management and ability to organise projects in a structured way.
- Adaptability and proactive attitude.
Organisation
Our client is a leading global player in environmentally friendly coatings. These coatings are mainly used to protect against corrosion and are applied in various sectors such as marine, offshore, petrochemical, shipping,... They manage both production and have their own branch within the contracting business where they apply the coatings themselves. They are classified as a class 6 contractor for these works in Belgium, but also do assignments in the Netherlands as a contractor. They have been active for over 35 years now and are looking for a Project Manager E&I and Constructions within their contracting branch to strengthen their team.
