Project Manager

As a Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead a challenging project from A to Z. You will have responsibility for the full process from design to delivery as well as the space to further develop your leadership and expertise.

You will become the driving force behind this strategic project.

Below is a sample of your duties:

• Building up a team and following up the coordination of the various steps so that everything goes according to the set deadlines.
• Responsible for full project management with focus on timely and successful completion within a 2-year timeframe.
• Managing stakeholders, staff and teams from concept to delivery, with an eye for technical and organisational control.
• Drafting the master plan for the tank farm and bulk processing as a foundation for the project.
• Manage, prepare and submit permit files, supervise approval processes and ensure compliance with all technical, legal and safety standards.
• Organising tenders and requesting quotes for construction, tanks, pipes and other project components.
• Lead design and engineering teams, coordinate internal and external collaborations, and ensure clear communication with stakeholders, suppliers and partners to ensure efficient execution and transparent project progress.
• Establish and monitor plans, budgets and timelines to ensure progress.
• Identify and address risks, while ensuring clear communication and collaboration with all stakeholders.

As a Project Manager, you will meet the following requirements:

• In possession of an engineering degree in civil engineering, works engineering, electrical engineering or similar field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in project management preferably in the industrial sector or tank farms.
• Experience in working with multidisciplinary teams and leading large infrastructure projects.
• Very good communication skills in both Dutch and English.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
• Experience in risk management and working with strict deadlines.

Our client is the European market leader in collecting and processing used oils and fats. This is processed in their plant into raw material for biofuel with which they contribute to making Europe more sustainable and CO2 neutral. Today, they have more than 700 employees spread over some 10 countries. Due to continued growth, they are going to invest in the construction of a brand new tank farm in the Ghent seaport with which they will further expand their production capacity. As a result, they are looking for a Project Manaer who will take on the development of this which offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in this ambitious, innovative and strategic project.
