Function
For our client in Lummen, we are looking for a Maritime Planner. In this role You will be responsible for coordinating bulk waste shipments by road, container and water. You play a key role in finding effective and efficient sea and inland waterway solutions.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for the following range of tasks:
- Develop efficient and effective marine and inland shipping solutions for commercial deals;
- Guarantee that all maritime transport operations comply with legislation, environmental regulations and internal quality standards;
- Manage transport costs and negotiate prices for new and existing routes;
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing of maritime transport;
- Coordinate and monitor the logistics mailbox together with your colleagues;
- Optimise and automate transport processes to drive operational excellence;
- Maintain close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders and build strong relationships;
- Reporting to the Transport Manager.
Profile
For the position of Maritime Planner at our client in Lummen, we are looking for a candidate who recognises himself in the description below:
- You have at least 3-5 years' experience in an international transport environment, preferably in maritime transport;
- You have a thorough knowledge of relevant waste legislation;
- You have a bachelor's degree or relevant work experience at an equivalent level;
- You are a natural caller and mainly use the phone as a means of communication;
- You are action-oriented, results-driven and enjoy getting things done;
- You take responsibility, think out-of-the-box and view challenges with a growth mindset;
- You are a real team player with excellent planning and organisational skills, even under pressure;
- You are fluent in Dutch and/or English, with a good knowledge of French. Knowledge of other languages is a plus;
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office and have experience with ERP systems.
