Site manager Private Works

• Yard organisation and coordination: You will organise and coordinate the site from start to completion, paying attention to safety and quality. Daily presence on sites is essential.
• Cooperation and communication: Work closely with project managers, foremen, workers and subcontractors. Give clear and simple instructions to subcontractors and own workers, train and direct them.
• Safety management: Furnish the worksite with attention to safety for all involved, and monitor compliance with safety procedures. Address employees on compliance with these procedures.
• Work preparation and technical implementation: Ensure necessary work preparation and give site instructions. Explain the technical execution of the work and set out required dimensions and levels, in consultation with the topography department if necessary.
• Material management: Order the necessary equipment to ensure continuity of operations.
• Progress and quality control: Inspect progress of works taking into account specifications and schedule. Check the quality of work delivered.
• Administration and yield monitoring: Take care of the necessary administration on a daily basis, monitor returns and intervene when necessary. Look for optimisations and act commercially.
• Reporting and improvement processes: Lead meetings to discuss progress of works on site. Report to the project manager or team leader and continuously look for possible improvements in processes, systems and working practices to improve efficiency.

You will mainly work on sites in the Port of Antwerp, Zaventem airport, or within the pharmaceutical sector. The construction sites are mainly located in the province of Antwerp and sometimes in Zaventem, which means you will mainly be working centrally in Belgium/Flanders. This position focuses mainly on infrastructure works such as sewerage, asphalting, construction of car parks, and renovations.

• Education and experience: You preferably have a degree in site organisation, a professional bachelor's degree or are an industrial construction engineer. Relevant work experience is a plus.
• Technical and spatial insight: You have practical technical and spatial insight.
• Leadership qualities and team spirit: You use your leadership skills on a daily basis and know how to keep the group spirit high.
• Responsible and independent: You have the necessary sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently.
• Flexibility and multitasking: You have an eye for detail, can handle multiple tasks flexibly and work in a structured and meticulous manner.
• Administrative skills: You have administrative skills and a good knowledge of Dutch. Knowledge of French is a strong plus, other languages are nice to have.
• Motivation and eagerness to learn: You are flexible in working hours and distances, motivated and eager to learn.
