As a Senior Outside Sales Engineer, you will be the driving force behind the sales of technical solutions and products. You are responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customers, identifying new business opportunities and achieving sales targets. With your technical expertise and commercial skills, you will ensure optimal customer satisfaction and contribute to the growth of the company. An integral part of the position is leading sales activities and achieving the agreed sales, booking, gross profit and strategic objectives for the product lines, accounts and services in Belgium (mainly around Antwerp). By engaging with our customers and providing a high level of service, you will expand and strengthen relationships. The focus is on selling and promoting products and services, concepts and solutions as offered by the Final Control Business Unit and other strategically defined business units of our client.

  • Actively visit customers to promote sales of the products and services of and strategically negotiate, with an eye on long-term opportunities
  • Handling sales cycles from lead to close
  • Manage and develop the market position by understanding the customer's business drivers and goals and staying abreast of their situations
  • Prepare and be responsible for an annual booking budget per product/value/period
  • Understanding and working in a project team for integrated applications
  • Participate in relevant industry events 

Profile

For the position of Senior Outside Sales Engineer, we are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of selling technical products and solutions. You must be able to work independently and have excellent communication skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering / technical field or equivalent experience
  • Proven sales/business development experience in a commercial role 
  • Affinity with technology
  • CRM & MS Office tools
  • Skill in English and Dutch/Flemish
  • Availability to travel 
  • Driving licence


Qualifications that allow you to stand out: 

  • Experience with matrix organisation
  • Experience in an industrial automation environment; with good knowledge of similar technical products (e.g. flow control, pressure management, valves, actuators, controllers) and understanding of similar industries (e.g. chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, energy, life sciences) 
  • Interest in energy efficiency and sustainability
