Senior Accountant (family SME)

As Finance Manager, you will be the focal point for all financial matters within our client's SME. You will be responsible for performing full accounting, financial reporting, and providing analytical support to optimise business operations. As the organisation is a smaller SME, we are looking for someone with broad financial skills and the ability to operate independently, with back-up support from the head office in the Netherlands. Although accounts are kept separate, you will work closely with colleagues's in the Netherlands to share best practices and provide support where needed.

• Operational accounting: You will manage all daily accounting processes, including invoicing, managing debtors and creditors, bank transactions and other relevant financial activities. You will also ensure the accuracy of financial documents and ensure timely completion of financial transactions.
• Financial reporting and analysis: You will prepare and analyse periodic financial reports to provide insight into the financial health of the organisation.
• Controlling: You will implement and maintain internal control systems to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and protect the organisation against financial risks.

This position is available due to the upcoming retirement of the current financial officer. This person will stay on for one day a week during the initial period to ensure a smooth handover and sufficient guidance in the start-up phase.

• You have at least three years' experience in a similar position.
• A basic knowledge of French is sufficient; daring to speak the language is rated higher than speaking flawlessly.
• You will feel at home within a small-scale SME characterised by a flat organisational structure.
• Accuracy is your second nature. In addition, you are analytically strong and able to communicate effectively with management.
