• You are the team leader of our R&D department. You are responsible for the structured coordination and management of the R&D team. This team consists of 6 employees who focus on the product, packaging and process of moulded sweets, marsh mallows, UFOs and hard boiled candy.
• You work cross-functionally within the framework of the New Product Development (NPD) process (including OMT operations, the innovation manager and the NPD manager). You assess the R&D technical feasibility of development and innovation projects and give the necessary advice.
• You will report to the Group Quality - R&D Manager.
• You keep the overview and ensure the correct, qualitative and cost price technical execution of the activities (progress, assessment, efficiency). You evaluate annually whether the necessary technical tools are present at lab level to achieve the best results and manage this budget.
• You work with external partners for topics where the expertise is lacking in-house.
• You ensure that the technical knowledge within the business unit expands and updates.

Our client is a large producer of confectionery.

• You have a bachelor or master reasoning level, within a food technical direction.
• You can rely on at least 10 years of relevant experience and have the necessary affinity with the food industry.
• As a real people manager, you have experience (min. 5 years) in managing and coaching a team.
• You are an expert in project management and processes.
• You are a communicative, independent team player with the necessary dose of empathy.
• Stress resistant and flexible are words that suit you down to the ground.
• You are a plant puller and you have a creative mind so that you can find a solution and a structured plan of action for every problem.
• You like taking initiative and are proactive. On the other hand, you also set priorities easily.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.
