Function

  • Implementing safe working techniques and reinforcing company safety policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Provide daily leadership and direction for HSE programmes at employee/supervisory level to ensure a common and effective approach
  • Reporting HSE issues to the company on a regular basis, including conference calls
  • Organising HSE committee: inspection, meeting, risk assessment, planning and implementing corrective or preventive measures, and follow-up to ensure implementation
  • Responsible for planning and implementing HSE policy and procedure in accordance with local regulations and global HSE policies and procedures
  • Assist in maintaining Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures
  • Evaluates accidents and incidents and conducts field audits, reports and manages corrective actions
  • Plan and implement programmes to train all employees in HSE practices, fire prevention, hazards, management of special equipment
  • Work with other departmental staff to identify and report HSE risks across the company
  • Provides HSE signs, posters, required PPE, etc.
  • Leads the Emergency Response Team and complies with all company policies and procedures
  • Develop policies, procedures and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or activities, including standard procedures (e.g. ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000 standards series), quality audits/assessment
  • Claims management: coordinating the handling and closure of defects and claims registered by customers and suppliers through RCA and DMAIC
  • Develop and implement quality KPIs to work towards zero defects
  • Responsible for the database and calibration programme of on-site inspection instruments
  • Develop production tools, systems and processes to minimise waste, improve quality and increase throughput
  • Participate in and coordinate problem-solving activities in the workplace
  • If necessary, support process changes and implementation plans to solve ergonomic problems

Profile

  • Minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent through experience
  • Understanding metal fabrication processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of ISO standards
  • Experience with safety programmes for the production environment
  • Knowledge/experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S is a plus
  • Knowledge of information technology, including Windows, Microsoft Office products and other related tools
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, French is a plus
  • Experience with SAP or another ERP system is a plus
  • Team player and able to build and maintain both internal and external relationships
  • Leading by example to encourage cultural change
