Project Engineer

As a Project Engineer, you will be Key Account for 1 or more customers. 

You are the link between the customer on the one hand and your colleagues from production, quality, tooling, purchasing, logistics ... on the other hand. 

What does your task package look like in detail?

When new orders come in from your customers, you take the following steps; 

• Purchasing parts & tooling, among others, from suppliers in collaboration with purchasing;
• Organising multi-disciplinary internal APQP (Advanced Production Quality Planning) meeting;
• Providing necessary additions in the ERP system;
• Supervise and coordinate the first production run (APQP) of 'your' order in collaboration with QA , Production and Planning;
• Providing smooth communication with customers;
• Perform post calculation on the first production runs and provide improvements; 

Internal point of contact for questions and problems regarding your open or finished projects;

External point of contact for buyers and R&D engineers of your customers;

Participating in various small or large improvement projects, via the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology, etc;

If necessary, you can also be appointed to draw up quotations. Here you analyse the price request on a technical, quality and logistical level and calculate the production costs. This in cooperation with production, quality assurance, purchasing and logistics. 

You report to the Sales & Project Manager.

Who are we looking for for this Project Engineer position? 

• Master's degree in electromechanics or equivalent through experience; 
• Experience within automotive industry is a plus; 
• Ability to work smoothly with various departments to achieve objectives; 
• Strong communication skills; 
• Commercial aptitude is definitely an added asset;
• Technical understanding and the ability to assess the technical feasibility of projects;
• Drive, punctuality and correct follow-up of files;
• Ability to defend the company's interests in relation to the customer; 
• A strong sense of responsibility; 
• A good knowledge of English, written and oral.
