Project Engineer

You will be working for a company that has been around for more than 100 years. Moreover, you can count on a permanent job with a varied range of tasks in an exciting work environment. As a project engineer, you are responsible for the complete realisation of industrial projects, from preliminary design and quotation to delivery. More specifically in equipment construction, mechanical constructions and applications in the environmental industry. Specifically, the following matters belong to your tasks:

• You work as a project engineer from A to Z.
• During the exploratory meetings, you question the needs of the client (internal or external), think along with them and work out solutions.
• You convert this technical design into an offer on the basis of a pre-calculation.
• You are responsible for various mechanical constructions in steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
• You will help start up and supervise the projects.
• You take care of the calculations and material specifications of the project.
• During the project, you continuously check the execution against the pre-calculation and intervene where necessary.
• During the execution of the project, you consult with the production director, draftsmen, technicians, the assembly team and/or subcontractor(s).
• You negotiate, make decisions, follow up on plans, participate in site meetings and ensure that the project scope is realised on time and within the precalculated conditions.

Our client is active in environmental solutions, both for industry and government in the fields of water, air and waste treatment. Their department in the Dendermonde region is specifically specialised in industrial metal constructions, piping, filter and ventilation systems and prefab & skid build environmental installations. They work both for the head office and for other companies. To strengthen their team, they are currently looking for a project engineer.

As a project engineer, you largely meet the following specifications:

• You are an industrial engineer within electromechanics, mechanics or equivalent or you have a technical bachelor with a good basis in industrial projects.
• Preferably you already have a first relevant experience as project engineer in a similar industry.
• You combine technical expertise and creativity with organisational talents and commercial flair.
• You express yourself fluently in Dutch and English. French is a plus.
• You can think analytically and conceptually.
• You have organisational talents and negotiating skills and have a customer-oriented approach.
