Production Engineer
As a colleague, you can expect:
˃A gross remuneration that takes into account your knowledge and strengths
˃An additional package including meal vouchers and group insurance
˃ A 39-hour working week with 20 days of leave and 6 days of ADV
˃A structured and well-framed training course
˃ Concrete career opportunities with support for your personal development
An open culture where everyone is approachable
˃ A company with a long tradition and extensive expertise
Function
In your new role, supported by an experienced team and years of accumulated expertise, you will work with the technical team on the shop floor as much as possible.
Besides the specific machinery and the possibilities they offer, the underlying automation is a crucial aspect to master. As soon as you start to get the hang of it, your responsibilities will expand further.
Together with your maintenance colleagues, you plan all planned and unplanned work and keep an eye on the necessary spare parts. In case of technically complex problems, you work out a solution together with the team. You will not be doing much tinkering, but a targeted analysis requires a closer look, of course.
The maintenance team is also on standby on Saturdays, but you don't have to be there every week. Rather, you end up in a rotating role that is mutually agreed upon and only occurs on average every six weeks.
Given the continuous investments, you are also at the helm of all improvement projects and you are always looking for innovative solutions and new opportunities in the market.
Besides the purely technical, you will also act as coach & coordinator of the technical team, focusing both on safeguarding production and on the further development of your colleagues.
Because your range of tasks includes various disciplines from the outset, your future lies entirely in the hands of your personal interests, and paths within Maintenance, Operations or Project Management are all open, even a combination if you like to continue working all round.
Organisation
An established value in the Ghent Seaport, active in the processing of steel at various locations in Belgium & abroad, continues to grow.
From strategically located sites, they serve the entire European market and continually invest in their extensive, high-tech machinery in order to be able to work fully customised for their customers.
They also continue to focus on the future and for this they are happy to count on their new colleague Production Engineer!

The ability to be in your element both at the office and in production
˃ A natural tendency to take initiative and pull projects
˃ Knowledge of Dutch, a bit of English and peut-être un peu de français
˃ A first work experience, but that's rather nice
