Mechanical Design Engineer

Together with our client, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer in Diest. You will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Designing complete production machines based on customer specifications
• You will independently perform calculations for technical constructions
• You will be responsible for modelling in SolidWorks (composition and detail engineering)
• You are responsible for the validation and documentation of new installations and components.
• You will supervise other colleagues in production where the design is made
• You will liaise with the customer (researchers) and conduct technical negotiations with suppliers
• You are responsible for checking and releasing drawings and parts lists

Our client has been active in the cable & wire industry for over 25 years. They specialise in cutting cables, stripping and crimping. They excel in the field of micro-connection technology and have their own machine building department. They also specialise in fine mechanics. They are, for example, engaged in making orthotics for podiatrists or making a smoothie machine. The company in question has the expertise and high-quality facilities to successfully respond to current market developments in industrial automation. They design with the most advanced programmes and apply vision techniques and robotics.

For the position of Mechanical Design Engineer, you preferably meet the following profile:

• You have a Master's degree in electromechanics, mechanical design, automation or equivalent through experience
• You can work well with Solidworks
• You can communicate fluently in Dutch and English
• You are assertive, results-oriented and a flexible team player
