Junior Accountant

As a Junior Accountant, you will join a full-time position of 40 hours per week with a fixed schedule. You will work from 9am to 5.30pm. Sliding hours can certainly be discussed. Weekend work is not an issue here. Working from home can certainly be discussed after the training period and by mutual agreement with the team.

You start immediately with a permanent contract.

The financial picture is as follows:

• A negotiable gross monthly salary depending on your relevant experience/diploma.

As a Junior Accountant, you will be supervised by an experienced colleague in various client files. You will fully support this person in the following tasks:

• You will be the point of contact for clients and fellow file managers.
• You check invoices and bills before entering them in the accounts.
• You perform VAT and tax returns.
• You will prepare balance sheets and take care of financial statements.
• You will write full reports to deliver to clients.

Another important part of this vacancy as a junior accountant is the advisory aspect. You assist clients in various legal transitions such as, e.g., incorporations, acquisitions, mergers, etc. You give them explanations in human language and advise them on important financial issues.

The accounting firm in Antwerp has a number of key competencies in mind for this Junior Accountant position.

• Importantly, you must have an accounting degree under your belt. Consider a graduate degree in Accounting Administration, Bachelor of Business Management: Accountancy-Taxation or a Master's degree in Commercial Science.
• If you have already worked in an accounting firm during your studies (internship and/or student job), you definitely have an edge!
• Since, as Junior Accountant, you also have a major role in advising your clients, it is important that you have a fluent chat. You like to convert financial jargon into human language. Good Dutch language skills are therefore a must.
• You are a digital-minded person who is always open to innovation, renewal and further digitalisation. Learning new software programmes does not put you off. All internal programmes can be taught, but a good knowledge of the entire Office package is a requirement.
