IT Specialist

• You support, manage and monitor the Linux environment.
• The IT Specialist performs daily maintenance activities by checking the following: system monitoring and alerts, system logs, scripts output and technical mailbox and backup jobs.
• You provide 1st line support for the IT infrastructure and services.
• You participate in building, upgrading and maintaining servers and systems.
• You also assist in the Release Cycle of the in-house developed production systems, manage and guarantee their availability.

• You respond to user requests, identify and diagnose problems and difficulties.
• The IT specialist identifies the root cause of incidents, proposes solutions and assists in identifying problems.
• You record relevant information in the ticketing system and follow up issues from start to finish.
• You also advise users on appropriate solutions and courses of action.
• In case a problem is not solved, you report it to higher support levels.
• You do the general monitoring of the network (hardware).

Our client is a leading supplier of high-accuracy GPS/GNSS receivers for demanding applications that require accuracy of decimetres or centimetres, even in difficult conditions. They supply both OEM modules and system-level GPS/GNSS receivers to customers in machine control and construction, land and sea surveying, mobile mapping, drones and more. Headquartered in Leuven, they have divisions all over the world.

• Our client is looking for candidates with a bachelor's degree in an IT-related field (or equivalent through experience)
• Preferably you have experience in a Linux environment, but you are also open to working in other environments.
• You have already worked with CentOS & Redhat operating systems.
• You are proactive, have a can-do mentality and are always interested in learning new things.
• You speak English and Dutch fluently
• The following knowledge/experience is a plus: Virtual box, Windows server, Active directory, Windows 10, VM ware, Docker, NetApp Storage, Cybersecurity.
