The position of international service engineer is accompanied by a permanent worker's contract of indefinite duration.
At start-up, you will be trained for the first 3 to 4 months in the factory in Wommelgem OR Halle. You will learn about the different parts, products, assembly techniques, technical plans, calibrations, etc. After that, you will spend 90% of your time working abroad, worldwide. On average, the assignments last a 2-3 weeks. This depends on the type of project (installation of an entirely new site versus maintenance assignment at a customer's site).
Your standard schedule is 40 hours per week, excluding weekend work. On average, you will work a 45-50 hours per week as an international service engineer, excluding travel time.

Function

As an international service engineer, you will be deployed 90% of the time on projects abroad. This is worldwide (Asia, North America, North Africa, Europe, South America...). You will join a team of 7 colleagues who will depart from Belgium for projects.
You will never be completely alone as an international ambassador of this company. This is because it is based in around 60 countries so there are hands to help you with every customer.
You will be called in to install entirely new sites, for maintenance or in case of breakdowns, failures.

Your responsibilities:
- you will work with the local technicians working at the customer and at this company
- you prepare the (un)planned work
- you carry out the assignments properly
- you search for solutions and optimisations together with the customer
- you think proactively and preventively with the customer

Customer service and satisfaction is always central. Transparent communication is therefore essential. You communicate and report on the state of affairs. You provide appropriate documentation according to standard norms and laws. Especially in the pharmaceutical sector, this is an important aspect.

Profile

As an international service engineer, it is important that you have a thorough knowledge of mechanics, electricity, automation and all accessories. This through experience or a relevant education (e.g. Bachelor of Electromechanics).
You are willing to work abroad 90% of the year. It is a great opportunity to build relationships with a very wide international network.
You are fluent in English supplemented by a good basic Dutch. Knowledge of other languages is definitely an asset.
Finally, you have no problems working independently, have responsibility and are stress-resistant. You remain calm, composed and professional even if there is chaos at the customer's premises (e.g. in case of a major breakdown).
