Function

For our client who makes constructions for ships in aluminium, we are looking for a Design & Production Engineer.

You will mainly work from the desk but you are also in direct contact with the workshop. You make 3D drawings of the aluminium structures in Solidworks.

These designs are read in by the cutting robot and/or the cutting machine. You do not have to program the machines yourself, this happens automatically.

After this, you also follow up on the production of these items and manually adjust parameters in your designs where necessary.

In addition to these tasks, you will also be working on continuous improvement and will implement long-term optimisations in production in order to organise it as efficiently as possible.

Organisation

This family business designs, produces and installs aluminium structures for ships. They work with 45 workers and 15 employees at the site in Wijnegem.

The offices are located in a modern building with open spaces and lots of light. A lot of investments are made in the production hall. In recent years, production has been automated to a large extent by the purchase of a folding robot and a robot for the cutting machine.

Profile

For this position we are looking for someone with a bachelor or master degree in electromechanics with a keen interest in mechanics and 3D drawing.

Recent graduates are welcome but people with experience can certainly add value.

You have good knowledge of Solidworks or you have professional experience with another 3D drawing package such as Inventor.

You have a strong technical insight and can easily maintain an overview.

You are a communicative person and you enjoy working with colleagues in production and in the offices.

You are fond of neatness and orderliness.

We will get back to you as soon as possible.
