Design/Mould engineer
Function
Development of moulds and mould parts
- You will be responsible for the preparation, controlled execution and reporting of all mould-related activities within projects, in accordance with customer agreements and our internal procedures. This includes sample, repeat and series moulds.
- You draft mould concepts based on customer product specifications (2D, 3D), raw material specifications, machine specifications, mould checklist/FMEA and technical manufacturability of the mould. This is done in cooperation with the mould supplier.
- You perform mould flow simulations to optimise mould designs.
- You determine a trim strategy for critical product dimensions and adjust the product model according to steelsafe standards.
- You will specify moulds and/or mould parts, ensuring that responsibility for correct delivery is clearly established according to our internal standards.
- You will supervise and monitor subcontracts with toolmakers, both nationally and internationally, to ensure that the work delivered meets the specified and intended results.
- You take down moulds and mould parts, assess any deficiencies and specify the necessary adjustments (repairs) to achieve the desired result.
- You determine and record the measurement specifications for products and/or mould parts and the necessary size corrections to efficiently achieve the correct dimensions. You do this in consultation with the internal measuring room, mould workshop and/or the external customer.
- You will provide budget input for the project, both for subcontracts and internal hours.
- You will be responsible for CAD documentation of moulds in the agreed PLM and maintenance system.
