Junior Finance Manager

The new employee will have the opportunity to organise the finance department as he/she wishes, in consultation with management. This offers a nice challenge for the person in question.

You will be able to work on your own projects, which ensures plenty of challenge and variety in your job. This is a full-time position with an open corporate culture in which you will be given a lot of responsibility.

The position involves daily bookkeeping for all companies, including invoices, bank transactions and sales data. The person will be responsible for preparing monthly and annual closing and managing data from various systems, such as EVA, ODOO, middleware.... In addition, the person will report on all accounting figures and communicate with external accountants and auditors.

The person will also be involved in budgeting, financial planning and monitoring. Other duties include keeping track of VAT, cash books, credit notes and bank contacts, as well as preparing payment lists and managing the accounting plan for reporting. The person will also communicate with banks and must therefore be aware of relevant regulations and procedures.

As a new position within the company, the person will be responsible for setting out a structured system for accounting and financial planning. This is a very important challenge as the company wants to continue to grow and develop. The person will be responsible for setting up a system that is efficient and effective, ensuring that all financial data is tracked and reported accurately.

Their new Finance Manager will have the opportunity to be creative and find innovative solutions to optimise the accounting process.

Our client is a chain of shops with 46 branches across Belgium. The company has experienced significant growth in recent times, but is currently 'slowing down'. Nevertheless, the company has plans to grow further in the longer term and aim for around 100 branches in Belgium.

Furthermore, our client is a young and dynamic company headquartered in Hasselt. The company places great emphasis on open communication, which means promoting a culture of transparency and cooperation.

This position requires at least 4 years' experience in a similar position. Experience in the retail sector is a plus, but certainly not a requirement.

The person must have excellent knowledge of both Dutch and English.

Furthermore, we are looking for someone with an inquisitive and communicative attitude and someone who values open communication. In addition, he/she must be a hard worker with both feet on the ground.

Discretion is essential as the future Finance Manager will work with confidential information. This person must also be able to execute projects independently and be analytically strong to interpret financial data.
