Calculator

You will be working in a pleasant company with about 15 colleagues, ensuring short lines of communication. It is a challenging and broad position in which purchasing, calculation, stock management and sales alternate.
Due to the company's growth ambitions, there are many opportunities for advancement and you can help build this yourself.

As a calculator you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• You build relationships with suitable tropical hardwood timber suppliers and record negotiations. You build reliable partnerships.
• Proactive stock management is one of your priorities. You ensure optimal stock levels and roll out the ERP package in such a way that you can rely on it for forecasts.
• You thoroughly analyse customer requests and take charge of calculations. You prepare accurate, cost-effective and competitive price offers.
• You quickly identify commercial opportunities and succeed in turning them into concrete business. In addition, key account management is very important in the position, in order to maintain an optimal relationship with existing customers.
• You will work closely with the joiners in the workshop and report directly to the General Manager.
• Depending on your ambitions, this range of tasks can also be supplemented.

Our client is based in Wetteren and has been active within the tropical hardwood niche for more than 100 years. They are active both in in-house processing of the timber as well as a distributor of tropical hardwood.
The applications are very broad, ranging from hydraulic engineering to road construction and landscaping. They also have a joinery shop where they can process wood from log to finished product.
In 2018, the company was acquired by four ambitious investors, bringing a breath of fresh air. To fulfil these ambitions, they are currently looking for a Calculator.

As a calculator, you largely meet the following requirements:

• You preferably have a higher technical education or are equivalent through experience.
• Above all, you have a passion for wood.
• You have experience in following up projects from a to z.
• You are analytically minded and describe yourself as accurate, punctual and thorough.
• You have a good knowledge of Dutch and can make yourself understood well in French and English.
• You communicate to the point and clearly.
• You enjoy working autonomously and are an initiator. Customer contact gives you energy and you go to extremes to provide excellent customer service.
