Job description:
In the role of Automation Engineer, you will be involved in programming and optimising robotics, machines and production lines. Your duties will include:
- Collaborate with other technical teams to improve overall efficiency and performance.
- Focused analysis and troubleshooting of failures in existing machines and PLC systems.
- Programming PLC's, HMI's and SCADA systems, using both pre-made and self-developed function blocks.
- Designing project plans based on electrical schematics's and layouts.
- Modular construction of control systems with standard function blocks.
- Internal testing of automation solutions, followed by on-site implementation and commissioning, resolving any issues.
- Drafting and implementing software solutions for automation projects according to a planned workflow.
Profile
Job requirements:
- In possession of a driving licence B
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting electrical schematics's
- Mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic knowledge is a plus
- Familiarity with software programmes's such as Siemens S7, Tia Portal, Beckhoff, Rockwell, HMI, Scada Software, Siemens WinCC and Eplan
- Good knowledge of motors, industrial electricity, electrical components and controls
- Accuracy, independence, flexibility, stress-resistance and organisational skills
- Experience in mechanical engineering is an added advantage
