Assistant Production Manager

As assistant production manager, you will be responsible for the following range of tasks:

• You will help monitor the daily operation of a production site in the broadest sense (productivity, personnel, technical, product quality, food safety, safety, etc.).
• You are responsible for the daily work organisation. Among other things, you prepare the production planning.
• You monitor any problems/pain points, you proactively make suggestions to improve the production process.
• You ensure that the products are of excellent quality, according to the set standards.
• Follow up hygiene standards and elaborate instructions.
• You do checks on quality documents and registrations carried out. You provide training where necessary.
• Besides your work on the shop floor, you are also responsible for administrative follow-up: you manage the recipes in our ERP system, you complete KPIs and make suggestions for optimisation, ...
• You ensure the smooth operation of your team and coach them in it. The team consists of production operators, packing operators, team leaders, warehouse worker and cleaners.
• You will report directly to the production manager and work closely with various departments within the company.
• You are the backup to the production manager and you are deputy team leader.

As an assistant production manager, you can largely tick off the requirements below:

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field. or are equivalent through experience.
• Preferably, you have experience in a similar job, but this is not a must.
• You have an affinity with food sector and preferably have technical insight.
• You are flexible (you can also occasionally work on Sundays)
• You have a real hands-on mentality and are organisationally strong. You can motivate others.
• You are a strong communicator.
• You can communicate very well in Dutch.

Our client is an established company and has been making tasty and high-quality breads, sandwiches, buns, patisserie,... They have 4 production sites in the Lokeren-Zele region.
