Function

As shift manager for the automatic production lines you are responsible for the following tasks:

  • You are responsible for the daily management to keep the automatic production lines running with high efficiency and in a safe way.
  • You discuss the planning and staffing with shift leader and production coordinator and deploy a team of operators daily to keep the lines running according to production planning.
  • You ensure continuity by securing the supply of raw material and packaging.
  • You act alertly in case of malfunctions and provide short-term solutions as well as long-term proposals.
  • You help determine the ideal changeover time for the lines and ensure safe and efficient changeover of the press and/or mould, as well as the robot settings for each product.
  • You ensure quality control by the operators. You monitor the productivity and efficiency standards of the department at all times, as well as following safety instructions.
  • You take care of new operators, guide them, train them and follow them up in the areas of quality, safety, working methods and performance.
  • You work closely with process engineering and are responsible for monitoring process improvements and training the operators in this regard.
  • You work in a two-shift system (early-late).
  • You will lead a small team of operators (5-10) and report to the production coordinator and shift leader.

Profile

As shift manager for the automatic production lines, you will largely comply with the following:

  • You have a solid technical education, e.g. A2 Mechanics/Electromechanics or a professional bachelor in these fields.
  • You have experience or training in managing people and enjoy managing people.
  • You are willing to learn about machine knowledge, moulds and setting up machines and robots.
  • You can work independently and keep a good overview.
  • You speak good Dutch, knowledge of English is a plus.
